Oaten/Lucerne chaff is a 50/50 blend with no molasses and is very good if travelling with horses and have limited room to store or carry feeds.

Many horses are fed a mix of oaten or wheaten chaff and lucerne chaff with their grain. The principle advantage of chaff is that it can be mixed with the concentrate portion of the feed so that the horse consumes forage with the concentrate. This can slow the intake of concentrate and prevent starch overload in the large intestine.
