Southern Flinders Dressage & Jumping

Amelia Greenfield

Toastie attended her last event for 2026, before a well earned spell for her.

I travelled to Murray Town on the Saturday to set up the showjumping, then headed back with Toastie on Sunday morning ready for our dressage.

We completed two tests, one Prep and one Prelim. We had a lot of tenseness, especially in the first test, but I was very glad that she did started to relax in the warmup before the second one. No doubt she is still expecting a racetrack, and we still have a lot of flatwork training to work on at home - but it's so wonderful to work with a safe horse, who isn't spooked by anything! She takes new locations in her stride.

After lunch we then headed out into the showjumping arena. She was still pretty hot and keen, but with only one other jumping competitor we ran it very casually, and I was able to do plenty of training lines and give her time to settle. We then jumped a 60-65cm round with a lot more relaxation. Love feeling her excitement, especailly as she does start to relax into the job.

Looking forward now to bringing this girl back into work in 2027.
